If you suffer from actual gynecomastia, you’ll need to look at a few lifestyle issues. Eating foods that are high in soy can actually lead to this problem. That’s because soy is full of estrogen, the female hormone.

When you have a diet that is high in soy you can actually begin to develop man boobs.

Fortunately, when you eliminate soy the problem will correct itself. Some medications can also cause the problem of man boobs.

While taking medication, if you notice that you’re developing man boobs you should talk with your doctor about this side effect. Together you can determine a course of treatment that will help you to avoid this condition.

Anabolic steroids, often taken by athletes or body builders, can also contribute to gynecomastia.

They cause a hormonal imbalance in the body that makes testosterone levels actually decrease. One side effect of this is to cause female characteristics to appear such as breast development.

The reason is the testosterone (male hormone) is diminished while the estrogen (female hormone) level rises in relationship to the testosterone. Hence, more female characteristics begin to appear.
