Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley produces some of the finest wine to be found in the world. The Virginia Wine Association has organized several wine tours throughout the Valley which are great ways to both enjoy the many vineyards and wineries and to also take in the gorgeous views and quaint towns along the way.

The Blue Ridge Whisky Wine Loop

This trail winds through the Blue Ridge Mountains of the northern Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. This loop features stops at rural Virginia treasures including wineries, a whiskey distillery, hometown eateries, and some incredible scenic vistas. Stop-offs at Luray Caverns, Shenandoah National Park and the Shenandoah River are absolutely essential to truly experience the beauty of the Valley.

Blue Ridge WineWay

This is Virginia’s idea of California’s Napa Wine Trail. Located about an hour west of Washington D.C., the Blue Ridge WineWay makes a perfect day trip or weekend outing. The Blue Ridge WineWay consists of eight vineyards located in Rappahonnock and Culepper counties of Virginia.

The wineries of the Heart of Virginia Wine Trail are open every weekend of the year, as well as weekdays during the summer.
