Successful Relationship Tips

Sometimes you're in a relationship and it doesn't seem to be going as well as you'd like or you want to take it to the next level. It's a pleasant thought to think that your relationship will nurture itself, but in reality, you are going to have to put some work into it to make it a successful relationship.

What should you do? Consider these tips:

Learn to compromise. A relationship requires two participants, so that means there's give and take and one person doesn't always get his or her way.

Compromise when you need to, totally give in when it's really necessary, and remember it's not all about you and your needs.

Spend quality time together. It's hard to feel you're close if you are both off doing your own thing.

Yes, you both need to have independent time and stand on your own four feet, but it's important to do things together too.

Discover what you have in common and find activities you can do together. Going to parent/teacher conferences and the like do not count. Think quality togetherness.

Be considerate. Why is it people tend to treat those closest to them rudely and treat strangers with more consideration and respect?

Take your bodily noises out of the room, say please and thank you, do more dishes than you'd like to, and liberally dole out the shoulder rubs.

Listen. Many people mistakenly believe they need to solve the other person's problem. 99% of the time that's not the case and if you try, you'll anger them.

"You should...", "Why didn't you...", "If it was me, I'd..." will not be welcomed. They just want you to listen and understand and support them whatever they choose to do.

Be there for them and give them your full attention. Listen with both ears and peel your eyes away from the TV.

Laugh together. Laughing helps diffuse a particularly tense situation between you because it allows a break from the drama and gives you both a chance to regroup.

Laughing together at something else means you're both on the same side, which is huge in this big complicated world. Encourage private jokes you can draw on when necessary.

When you take it upon yourself to follow these relationship tips, you might wonder if they'll be successful when you are the only party taking part.

But when you do these the funny thing is, everything will turn around and your partner will begin to extend the same courtesies to you.

Next thing you know, both of you are equal participants in creating a successful relationship.

You are a life Saver!!

I recently discovered this site and I can tell you that my life has not been the same. I now come here EVERYDAY and spend at least 1 hour.

I used to spend that time browsing online fashion and beauty magazine which just means that I spend more. Now I have replaced that habit with coming here.

In future I will think about contributing articles as well. Thank you! Thank you!! Thank you!!! and God bless"
