The Sole F85 Treadmill is the top model in the folding series of treadmills and features a 3.5-horsepower continuous-duty motor and zinc-coated balanced flywheel.

With these upgrades in place, you can reach speeds up to 12 miles per hour and inclines up to 15 percent.

It’s easy to track your progress with the large, 9-inch LCD backlit screen, plus an integrated sound system where you can listen to your iPod or MP3 player.

The Sole F85 has an array of practical features such as the two heart-rate controlled options, message board for mapping progress and six automated programs.

What’s So Great About the Sole F85 Treadmill?

Quiet: If you’re someone that likes to listen to music or watch TV while running, you’ll love the quiet operation of this machine.

The low noise also makes the treadmill ideal for parents who have young children and prefer to do their exercises at night.

Since the majority of treadmills are very large and obtrusive, many people find that they’re limited as to where they can place them.

The Sole F85 treadmill doesn’t have these limitations and, on the low setting, the machine is near silent.

Sturdy: Not only will you enjoy a super quiet operation, but the Sole F85 stands strong and sturdy.

What’s Not So Great About the Sole F85 Treadmill?

Lack of Technology: Don’t expect a lot of new technology with this machine, as it doesn’t have a USB port for data output, color LCD screen or animations and graphics.

If state-of-the-art technology is important to you and you plan to have your machine be compatible with various electronic devices, this machine may not be for you.

However, there are some good points to having limited technology.

First, the price is moderate, so you pay for a quality machine and nothing more.

Second, you don’t have to worry about your treadmill going out-of-date as technology emerges. 

Speed Lag: There is some lag when adjusting speed, more specifically when cranking the speed up or down.

This is not an oversight by Sole, but a feature that allows the motor to have a longer lifespan.

If you are someone that loves to adjust the speed however, you’ll find that this treadmill won’t keep up with your demands as well as others. 

Limited Features: Just as the machine lacks in technology, it also has limited features. There are stereos built into the machine, but the speakers are not the best of quality.

The fans do little in terms of actually cooling you off and instead just release a small breeze.

There is no cool down feature to end your workout either, so you will have to customize your own program to meet these needs. 

Is the Sole F85 Treadmill a Great Purchase?

If you’re looking for a serious treadmill that is affordable, comfortable, sturdy and quiet, the Sole F85 Treadmill is a wonderful purchase.

While it isn’t jam-packed with features and technology, most agree that this allows more room for a better quality design.

You’ll certainly get years of use out of this treadmill, plus be able to reach your fitness goals – and all without breaking the bank.
