Reading: Diana Her True Story - In her own words

When this book first came out it was a huge shock to the bulk of the population who had just been assuming that all was well in the marriage and that nothing could cause a divorce in a royal marriage.

In the last couple of decades this book has been dissected and analyzed to bits so when I finally got around to reading it I didn't find much in there that I hadn't already been well aware of from the media excerpts I had seen or read.

It is comprehensive, from childhood to her tragic death... Diana: Her True Story - In Her Own Words by Morton, Andrew ... I still find it a sad story.

This book begins with a transcript of her tape recordings for Morton, ergo "In her own words" in the title, which was obviously not included in the original as she was attempting to spill the truth while maintaining her distance from the authoring of the book.

Her life was a mess, a privileged and comfortable mess. She could have done so much more with her life from the very start.

I would have liked to have seen what sort of woman she would have grown into over the past 20 years, and what sort of contribution she would eventually come to make to improve the world.

She was the icon of our times, all the women born in the late 50's and early 60's felt aligned with her and her path.

We stumbled and learned at the same time. We had dreams shattered, and were betrayed by loved ones at the same time.

But we did not have to read every personal pain in the public media, or be hounded by revolting paparazzi looking for every opportunity to show us at our worst possible angle, state and mood.

We have the privacy to make a mess of our lives without doing so in the public spotlight, to be judged by one and all ... be grateful for that small mercy.

This book won't tell you anything you don't know, if you were alive when it all unfolded, but it will be a revelation for the Gen X and Y who haven't been paying any attention to Royalty and how they used to be revered, they could do no wrong at one time!

You are a life Saver!!

I recently discovered this site and I can tell you that my life has not been the same. I now come here EVERYDAY and spend at least 1 hour.

I used to spend that time browsing online fashion and beauty magazine which just means that I spend more. Now I have replaced that habit with coming here.

In future I will think about contributing articles as well. Thank you! Thank you!! Thank you!!! and God bless"
