How To Get The Best Results From Your Facebook Marketing Efforts


If a true marketing expert stood upon a podium and announced that, in his esteemed opinion, Facebook marketing was the one new(ish) marketing technique he would endorse – it would hardly cause the batting of a single eyelid, even in a seminar hall packed to the rafters.

Increasingly, businesses of every conceivable niche and size are using Facebook as a marketing tool to reach a very targeted segment of clients and to connect better with their customers.

Even if you think you know it all about Facebook, here are some extra tips and tricks to make sure you’re really using the social giant to its most gloriously full potential:

• Use Reveal Tab

Typically under-utilized by most Facebook marketers, the reveal tab tells you potential fans not only to like your page, but WHY they should.

A good reveal tab will offer some level of bribe, and the better the bribe the more likes you’ll nick.

• Create Incentives Frequently

Human nature is human nature, whether its online or offline.

One of the best ways to make your Facebook page popular, and to gather the maximum level of fans and likes is to create frequent incentives that will tempt the user into doing what it is you want them to.

Dominos is a good example of a company who bribes hungry pizza lovers into liking their pages and promotions – they often give discounts on pizzas and other menu items if people either join as friends or give a like to a certain promotion.

• Get Involved With The Facebook Community.

It’s no different from being involved with a forum within your niche – the key thing really is to know how to interact intelligently and in a way that other users will appreciate.

Ask good questions, and provide valuable advice and answers where appropriate. Be personable while doing it all.

• Create Events.

Facebook allows you to set-up events, so you can think up suitable events and invite your Facebook friends to join them.

• Interact With Friends.

Your friends (or clients to be more specific) should be interacted with on a regular basis, rather than just you spouting off about how great your product and company is.

The more social you are, and the more human your friends actually see you as, the more effective your Facebook marketing will be.

• Facebook Leverage.

The great thing about Facebook is that you can ultimately use it as a way of siphoning your friends onto your other web assets.

For example, you could offer an incentive (i.e. eBook) to get your Facebook friends to subscribe to a newsletter and so get them to join your opt in email list – or membership site.

Just be sure you do not over do this or you may well find yourself being un-followed pretty fast.

• Understand Facebook Metrics.

Some Facebook metrics are absolutely critical to understand, such as volume – which measures how many people are commenting about/liking your posts.

Other metrics to measure your success with Facebook marketing include the level of reach and influence.

It’s one thing to get the Facebook marketing rolling – it’s quite another to measure how well it is doing.

Facebook marketing can be as powerful as you want it to be – the more time and effort you pay it, and the more you play by the rules of social marketing the better your Facebook marketing campaign will perform.
