In your first rush of enthusiasm for your business it is very easy to spend 100% of your time both working in it and then administering it after hours.
You may even stay up late every night in an effort to get ahead.
This will soon lead to personal burn-out and affect relationships with your family and friends.
You need to achieve balance in your life to have a successful business and a good life.
It is only when you achieve a balance between your thoughts, emotions, work, diet and exercise that you can perform at your optimal level.
Creating a balance between work and life can be a tough task for most of us.
But believe me, just as a student makes his schedule dividing his time between study and play, you too can manage time judiciously to enjoy life and relaxation while earning decently to get the maximum out of your life.
You may be an executive in a big company, but this is not the only role that you are playing in life.
You have a family. You also have friends and then there is the community.
You have responsibilities to yourself which you have forgotten completely.
You are assigning highest priority to your work, which is only one aspect of your life, while neglecting the other three aspects that are equally important. This creates tension.
What you need is a balanced plan in order to devote time and energy judiciously to all of these four quadrants.
It is obvious that you have to devote maximum time to your work as your earnings come from your work, but remember, all work and no play makes John a dull boy.
Be prepared to face the wrath of all those who play an important part in your life.
What is balance?
Every man has only 24 hours in a day. But there are some who are always complaining that they do not have time for their family and friends.
At the same time, there are so many people who despite being so busy are still able to enjoy quality time with their loved ones.
It all depends on your priorities. The more you push yourself towards work and neglect your need to have good times with your loved ones, the lower your efficiency gets.
You may not realize this, but your output goes up after you have spent time with your friends and family, as your mind is refreshed and you are better prepared for work.
So my suggestion would be to look at life as a weighing scale.
In one plate you can keep your work and the other 50% should be devoted to all other priorities in life.
Planning for balance
Most people do not make a schedule and are always completing their tasks in the last minute.
This is what creates unnecessary stress that builds up over a period of time.
No matter how busy you are (there are Presidents and Prime Ministers too), you can always have a private time which you can enjoy with your family and friends.
This is bound to bring you greater inner sense of satisfaction and accomplishment than if you were to devote all your time to work.
Exercise is a part of balance
Lifestyles have become such that it is hard for everyone to have a short workout. This is a recipe for disaster in the long run.
In order to remain healthy and fit you need to do some sort of exercise, whether at home or at the gym.
If you feel it is hard to take time out every day at the same time, you can always find light weight fitness machines to exercise at home, while you are watching TV or going through the newspaper.
Forget that guilt
There are many who would say that by reducing their work time, they are not doing justice to their work, but this feeling of guilt is something that will quickly go away as you find your work efficiency going up.
The moment you start having quality time with friends and family, you will have better focus and a sense of accomplishment even at the work place.
You will be doing more in smaller amount of time.
Learning to delegate responsibilities will help you to keep some time for yourself and your family.
Taking time off will ensure you arrive back at work feeling fresher and brighter and are able to accomplish much more in the same time than you would if you remained tired.

habit with coming here.
