Easy Dip Dyed Hair

Today, there are many celebrities that have dip-dyed hair. Demi Lovato was one of the more popular with blonde hair and pink tips.

If you saw her on the X-Factor, you may have fallen in love with her bright and unique hairstyle and decided that you wanted to try to dye your hair the same way.

After all, summer is almost here, so a fun new hairstyle is in store for you, anyhow.

Dip dying your hair is easy and is something you can do yourself, without visiting a salon.

Here is the inside scoop.

How to Get Started

If you have decided to dip dye your hair, you will want to be sure you have everything you need before you get started.

You will need to have some bleach and developer and the color that you plan to use on the ends of your hair.

The first thing you will want to do is to take a hair band and place it where you want the dip dye to end on your hair.

Bleach First - Color Second

You will then want to mix up bleach with developer and start applying it to the ends of your hair below the elastic.

Fan your hair out for better coverage; this will also make the dip dye look more unique.

Allow the bleach to lighten your hair for up to 90 minutes and then wash it off.

Now take the dye on the brush and start applying it to the bleached area of your hair.

If you are using a dye like Manic Panic or Special Effects, you can leave the dye on your hair for as long as you want, even overnight if you want to.

It is always a great idea for you to use heat on the dye to help it set into your hair better.

When you wash the dye off, you will see the final result.

If you don't think the colors are bright enough, you can add more of the dye to your hair and it will not damage it whatsoever.

Dip dyed hair is fun and can look great for summer.

It is fairly easy to do and you can feel accomplished by doing it yourself. Be sure you have everything you need on hand before you start and you will be set to go. Soon you will be rocking your own fabulous dip dye job.

But if you are a total coward like me, but want to have the fun of dip dyed hair, you can always cheat by getting a wig like one of these... all around $20 so its a cheap way to see if you like the style first.
