When you have an immediate need for relief at home you turn to your trusty first aid kit. But you can actually replace most of your over the counter medications and ointments with essential oils for a natural first aid kit.
By gathering these oils and keeping them all together you’ll be able to handle just about any minor medical issue that comes up at home. This will save you money and will allow you to heal more naturally from anything that ails you.
Start by getting a container for all of your oils. You can purchase one specifically for that or use another type of plastic bin or basket.
Next, start stocking up on oils. If you can purchase them all at once you’ll be prepared. But if not, start gradually adding until you have them all.
Lavender.
Lavender is a good oil that can be used for many different things. It can help you to sleep better, treat a sunburn, provide relief from an insect bite, and can help you to feel more relaxed.
Eucalyptus.
Eucalyptus can help with congestion and is perfect when you have a cold or the flu. It can also be used to treat shingles.
Tea Tree.
Tea tree oil can be used to treat minor cuts and scrapes instead of using an antibiotic ointment. It’s also good for acne and for insect bites. You can apply it right to the affected area.
Peppermint.
Peppermint oil is wonderful for relieving nausea and stomachaches. It can also provide relief from muscle pain, headaches, and allergies. You can also use it as a natural bug repellent.
Lemon.
Lemon is an oil that can be used for colds and congestion. It also helps to boost your natural immunity so that your colds last for fewer days. Lemon oil can also be used for cleaning and as a natural room freshener.
Cypress.
If you suffer from a sore throat, diffusing a bit of cypress oil can help to soothe it and give you some relief.
Chamomile.
For bruises, sprains, and swelling due to an injury, you can use chamomile. Mix it with one part essential oil and one part carrier oil and apply it directly to the injured area.
These oils can help your body to become more balanced and to heal itself naturally without side effects or adding dangerous toxins to your body. You’ll find that these oils can get you through most minor health issues.
